Privacy Policy

Effective July 26, 2026

1. What we collect

Account data. Email address and authentication details when you sign in with Google or a magic link.

Uploaded images. Files you send for AI conversion, plus settings such as aspect ratio, prompts, and tool options tied to a generation task.

Generated results. Output images, task status, and timestamps shown in History.

Usage and billing. Credit balance, ledger entries, Stripe customer and payment references. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe processes payments.

Technical data. Basic logs (IP address, browser type, request time) used for security and debugging. Local mock-login mode may store an email in your browser storage when Supabase is not configured.

2. How we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, run generations, show history, manage credits, process payments, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal data.

3. AI processing

Uploaded images and related prompts are sent to third-party AI providers to produce pixel art. Providers process data under their own terms. Choose uploads you are comfortable sharing with a cloud image API.

4. Service providers

We rely on vendors that host or process data on our behalf, including:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Stripe — checkout and subscriptions
  • AI image API providers — generation
  • Hosting and analytics infrastructure for the web app

They may only use data as needed to provide their service to us.

5. Retention

Generation history and stored outputs are kept for about 15 days on free accounts and about 90 days while a paid subscription is active, then removed during routine cleanup unless law requires longer storage.

Account, billing, and security records may be kept longer for fraud prevention, accounting, and dispute handling.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, and provider security features. No online service is perfectly secure; use a strong email account and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Your choices

You can sign out, stop uploading new images, and request deletion of your account or stored generations by emailing us. Some records may remain where we must keep them for legal or billing reasons.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us to exercise those rights.

8. Children

AniPixel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.

9. International users

Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using the service, you understand it may cross borders.

10. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in (session tokens), remember basic preferences, and protect the service. These are required for the product to work.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to AniPixel or other websites. Third parties may place and read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving.

11. Browser extension

The optional AniPixel Companion browser extension (Chrome / Edge) helps you pick images from the page you are viewing, preview a local pixel effect, export sharp avatars, and open AniPixel web tools with the selected image. Installing the extension is optional and separate from using the website.

Website content the extension may handle. When you use magnet pick, the image context menu, or open the in-page studio with a selected image, the extension reads that image (and related display data needed to show the overlay) from the current tab. It does not scrape your full browsing history, does not read page text for profiling, and does not monitor other tabs in the background.

Local processing. Quick pixel preview and avatar crop/export run in your browser. Those images stay on your device and are not uploaded to AniPixel unless you choose a site action such as Pixelize, Remove background, or Fix pixel grid (including the matching context-menu shortcuts).

When you send to the site. Opening an AniPixel tool from the extension loads https://anipixel.xyz with the image you selected, either as a safe http(s) image URL in the page query or via a short-lived handoff in extension session storage for large inline images. From that point, the same website rules in this policy apply — including account data, uploads, AI providers, and retention.

Preferences stored by the extension. The extension may store on-device preferences such as theme, sharp-pixel display, magnet-pick on/off, last studio options, and whether you dismissed onboarding. Sharp and magnet preferences can persist across pages until you turn them off. Preference data is not sold and is not used for advertising.

Permissions. The extension uses activeTab and scripting after you interact (toolbar popup, context menu, or open studio) so it can inject the floating studio, magnet picker, and optional sharp CSS on the current tab. It uses storage for the preferences and short-lived handoff above. It uses cookies only to read and write the AniPixel theme preference cookie on anipixel.xyz (not for auth tokens). Host access in the store build is limited to https://anipixel.xyz/* for deep links and theme sync. It does not request <all_urls>, does not execute remote code, does not sell data, and does not include advertising SDKs. The extension does not show AdSense ads.

What the extension does not collect. It does not collect names, emails, passwords, payment details, health data, personal messages, precise location, or a list of sites you visit, beyond the image you explicitly pick and any preferences listed above. Account sign-in and billing happen only on the website when you use AniPixel there.

12. Advertising

AniPixel may display third-party advertisements through Google AdSense. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve personalized ads based on visits to AniPixel and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We do not sell personal data. Advertising identifiers, where used, are handled under this policy and the ad partner's terms. Where required, we provide consent controls before non-essential advertising cookies or similar technologies are used. The browser extension does not show AdSense ads.

13. Changes

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be noted in the product or by email when appropriate.
